WEST PALM BEACH - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will address the media at Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) on November 22nd to discuss the roll-out of TSA PreCheck, part of the agency's larger effort to implement risk-based security, and also to provide packing tips for the busy start of the holiday travel season.

TSA PreCheckTM is an expedited screening initiative and at PBI select American, United, Delta, Southwest, JetBlue and US Airways frequent flyers and members of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler programs may receive expedited screening benefits when traveling.

For those travelers directed to the expedited screening lane, it means they will be allowed to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, and keep their laptop and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag inside their carry-on.

Passengers who are eligible for TSA PreCheckTM include U.S. citizens of frequent traveler programs invited by participating airlines, U.S. citizens who are members of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler programs, Canadian citizens who are members of CBP's NEXUS program and passengers traveling on a participating airline who TSA proactively prescreens using its Secure Flight system. This means many more people will be experiencing these lanes. And later this year TSA will launch an application program, allowing more U.S. citizens to enroll in TSA PreCheckTM.

To date, more than 18 million passengers across the country have experienced TSA PreCheckTM. TSA PreCheckTM is now available at 100 airports, so passengers should look for the notation on their boarding pass and seek out the proper lane at their destination airport for their return flights as well.
