Public Invited to Free Art Exhibition and "Meet-the-Artists" Event
Every artwork has a story and every artist a story to tell.
On Jan. 15, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., the public is invited to Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) to view notable works of photography, painting and mixed media created by 20 of Palm Beach County's finest emerging and professional artists. The artists will be on hand to share the "how and why" stories behind their artworks, providing a unique interactive opportunity for visitors.
For example, Javier "Jabo" Bohorquez explains that layers of imagination and color, and his Latin roots, are strong driving forces in his "Woman in White" photograph, featured on the event invitation.
Nearly 90 artists applied for this show and 20 were selected by members of the Palm Beach County's Public Art Committee.
Featured artists include: Sylvia Riquezes and Nadine J. Saitlin from Boca Raton; George J. Cheskes and Joan Therien from Boynton Beach; April Davis from Jupiter; Paulo D. Slater from Lake Park; Carmel Brantley and Robert Brantley from Ocean Ridge; Barry Seidman and Barbara Winkel from Palm Beach Gardens; Javier "Jabo" Bohorquez, Lisette Cedeno, Sandy Friedkin, Tracy Guiteau, Rick Herter, Richard Jacobs, Erik Kucera, Frances Lynn, Ok-Hee Kay Nam and Oscar Rojas from West Palm Beach.
This changing exhibition is located on Level 2 of the Main Terminal. Parking is available in Short Term, levels 4-7.
For a virtual tour of the entire exhibition visit the Art in Public Places website.
